DEBDEN (26/11/2005)

I went to Essex Olympian League Debden Sports last Saturday for their clash with unbeaten Harold Wood. It was an entertaining game, with Debden having two goals disallowed before going down 0-3 to a very strong HW side. The ground in Chigwell Lane is very close to the M11 Junction 5, although this is only a northbound exit. It is also just 10 minutes away from Debden Station on the tube line. The pitch is one of three, and a fair way from the dressing rooms/clubhouse. Here, they did teas and a fine selection of food - the smell of cooking bacon was very tempting. A smart programme was issued for a quid.
