SEPTEMBER 2007

30/9/07 14:10 George and Maureen Osborne - Once again thanks to all who helped on the San Remo question. Now we seek help on the Dutch non league scene/early cup rounds. We have fixed up a weekend in the Ijmuiden region of Holland 19/21 of October. We are set up for the Friday and the Sunday, but I am finding it difficult to get a fixture for Saturday.I have spent hours trawling the lower league clubs on the Soccerlink web site with no success. They all seem to have a gap in their fixture lists for that weekend and I am guessing that could be the first round of their cup competition.Would anyone know if this is the case? and if so how I can get hold of a list of "the draw".Our big game on the sunday is AZ Alkmaar does anyone know if we can expect complications vis a vis membership cards etc.All information gratefully received
26/9/07 16:21 David Reed - I’ve just discovered from Storrington’s website that their RUR Cup home game tomorrow night (Friday) will be played at Selsey’s ground KO 7.30.
Re: Cobham Sport’s no 17, it was Charlie Vukevic, there was no number five.
26/9/07 08:12 Brian Buck - I was told that the official crowd figure was 159, but don't know who the number 17 was.
25/9/07 13:52 Chris Bedford - Please could somebody let me have the attendance from Saturday's hop game at Sturminster Marshall and also the name of the Cobham no 17 who started the game. Thanks a lot. It was good to meet up again with some of the travellers from the South East who I hadn't seen for years, as well as the traveller from Oban.
25/9/07 09:57 Graeme Holmes - Does anybody know the extent of the redevelopment of the old Oswestry ground that TNS are now at please. Is it just a new stand and new pitch or is it completely changed
22/9/07 21:34 John Delaney (Secretary Llandudno FC) - The Clwyd League, Division Two, game between Llandudno Reserves and Connah's Quay Nomads Reserves has been brought forward a day from Saturday to Friday 28 September with a 7.30pm kick off under floodlights. It should be noted that Connah's are currently first in the league table and Llandudno are second so it should be a great game.
21/9/07 10:39 Mark Jones (updated) - The Clwyd League President's Cup tie between Prestatyn Town 3rds and Prestatyn Town Reserves has been switched from Saturday 22 Sept to Sunday 23rd with a 2pm kick off. The game will now be at Bastion Road (1st team ground) and not the 3rds ground in nearby Gronant. Any queries call prog editor Mark Jones on 07753 966805. There will be a small A5 teamsheet with spaces to fill in the line-ups, hoppers should ask for one at the turnstiles. Best I could do at very short notice but it's better than nothing I suppose.
21/9/07 10:38 Bill Berry - Three FA Cup ties will be played on Tuesday (25th):

The FA have ordered that the Preliminary Round tie played on 1st September between Barnt Green and Willenhall be re-played due to the former's inadvertent use of an ineligible player. The tie will be played at Willenhall (extra time and penalties if necessary).

The First Round Qualifying Replay between Needham Market and Grantham, abandoned due to floodlight failure this week, will kick-off at 7.45.

London APSA will play Brentwood (at Brentwood) in a First Round Qualifying tie after APSA's Preliminary Round opponents Tiptree were removed from the competition for fielding an ineligible player.

Premier Academy League fixtures are as printed in the magazine, all at 11am, apart from the following: Arsenal (10-45), Birmingham, Crystal Palace, Ipswich and WBA (12-00), Everton and Middlesbrough (12-30), and Wolves (1-00)
20/9/07 07:43 Rob North - Scottish Junior Fixtures – East Region Saturday Sept 22 - Fixtures in all divisions have been re-hashed due to the Junior International taking place on Saturday. No games allowed within 45 miles.

For obvious reasons travellers are advised to check their fixture.
20/9/07 Steve Broughton/Bill Berry - In reply to Graeme Holmes re Quarry Bank OB - according to this season's league handbook they play at Calderstones Comprehensive School Playing Field, Greenhill Road, off Mather Avenue. Coincidentally, the club's secretary, Dave Thornton, lives in the same road (No.29). Steve adds: "They played there when I went last season. As you turn from Allerton Road into Greenhill Road the entrance is on the left. It's some way from the school itself."
19/9/07 17:00 Mark Jones - The Clwyd League President's Cup tie between Prestatyn Town 3rds and Prestatyn Town Reserves has been switched from Saturday 22 Sept to Sunday 23rd with a 2pm kick off.
19/9/07 08:50 Graeme Holmes - Does anybody know where Quarry Bank OB play in the Liverpool County Combination please Most books list their home ground as Greenhills, but each time I have been there it has all been locked up but they still have results published Also, check on times of kick offs – I went to see Collegiate OB after the Everton/Man Utd game last Saturday, and they had kicked off at 2.15 instead of the published time of 3pm
15/9/07 18:01 Gordon Hall - will be travelling to the Dorset hop, leaving Scotland by road on Thursday prior and I am looking for games on Thursday & Friday evenings somewhere along the M6 and southwards. Can anyone help? (Webmaster: Gordon, please accept by apologies for not adding this earlier)

7/9/07 12:49 Leo Hoenig  - San Remo - club name US Sanremese - finished bottom of Serie C2 last season, relegated to Serie D (Group A) League Website is http://w3.interregionale.com/ir/vwghome.asp?DEFLANG=it It appears they are away that weekend though suggest you work out who else is nearby, and then use www.lega-calcio.it for Serie A/B www.lega-calcio-serie-c.it for Serie C1/C2
7/9/07 11:10 Dave Woodings - In answer to the Osbornes there is a link to the Serie C website (as well as Series A, B and D) at the top of the main Traveller web page under "Europe". Most games are played at the same time and on the same day but there are a few variations each weekend. These can usually be found in Communicati Uffiziali but are not announced very far in advance.
